The American Forest & Paper Association released its January 2018 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report on February 21, 2018. Containerboard production was up 0.7% compared to January 2017. The month-over-month average daily production compared to December 2017 was 2.9% lower. The containerboard operating rate was 97.2%, or 2.2 percentage points higher than January 2017. Production for exports was 10.5% lower than January 2017, which was the month with the second highest export volume in 2017. The report can be purchased by contacting [email protected]
