Green Bay Selects Voith

Green Bay Packaging Inc. has selected Voith to supply a full line of equipment for its new paper mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The new mill will be operational in 2021. The company plans to break ground on construction of the new mill by early Fall 2018.

The 300-inch trim, 100% recycled paper machine with a design speed of over 3,900 FPM will utilize old corrugated containers and mixed waste for the fiber supply to produce linerboard and corrugated medium.

Voith Paper, whose North American headquarters is based in Wisconsin, and Voith company MERI Environmental Solutions, will complete the installation of the XcelLine paper machine as well as its corresponding subsystems, including a BlueLine stock preparation system, VariFlex winder, a reject handling system and an effluent treatment plant to name a few.

“For the North American papermaking industry, this contract with Green Bay Packaging is the first of its kind, as Voith Paper North America will serve as the single full line supplier for all of the papermaking components of their new mill,” said Martin Jauch, President, Business Line Projects, Voith Paper North America. “A project of this magnitude will positively influence the industry, U.S. economy, environment and multiple workforces, including our approximately 300 highly skilled and technology driven Wisconsin employees, who will be working on it for not only the next few years, but many years to come.”
