The American Forest & Paper Association released its July 2018 Containerboard Monthly report on 15th August. Containerboard production was up 4.2% compared to July 2017 and up 1.5% year-to-date. The month-over-month average daily production compared to June 2018 was 3.8% higher. The containerboard operating rate was 99.4%, 2.5% higher than the same month last year. Production for export reached its highest level for 2018 so far; it was 2.0% higher than July 2017 but 2.7% lower year-to-date.
