The Kawahara TXR is an automated blanking machine for cartons, labels and cards in cartonboard or plastics and replaces almost all hand stripping – providing greater throughput at a traditional area for bottlenecks, as well as improving working conditions for the operators. It is also a very flexible and economic alternative to in-line blanking as it uses simple inexpensive tooling as opposed to costly dies for each job. The technology is based on a bed of pins that are configured automatically by the machine to the desired job layout and the pins then support the product and push down on the waste to effect the separation.
The TXR is now deployed throughout every continent for stripping cartons, blister cards, plastic packaging and in-mould labels. With one operator it can process four or more pallets of material per hour, for almost any existing sheet design, no matter how complex. It eliminates repetitive strain injuries for operators, offers fast make-ready times, and reduces hand stripping headcount. There is usually no need to change existing die-cut layouts to suit the TXR. The machine has options for sheet feeding and for product unloading systems after blanking. In this way, a highly productive cell can be created – getting your product to the end user faster.
Kawahara Packaging was the early pioneer of off-line blanking and machines are still entirely precision-engineered in Japan, robustly made and providing decades of service. ANC Machinery is the export partner of Kawahara and the exclusive worldwide supplier of the TXR outside of Japan. For more information and to access video clips of the TXR, visit www.an-machinery.com
