Visioncut 1.6 PR for Swanline

UK-based Swanline Print has invested in a Bobst die-cutter to provide increased on-site die-cutting capacity. The Visioncut 1.6 PR die-cutter with Power Register will enable Swanline to meet growing customer demand for high quality shelf-ready and luxury packaging, and is part of a wider programme of investment to respond to anticipated business growth during the next five years.

Simon Kirby, Technical Director at Swanline Print (pictured below, left), said, “The market is demanding high quality, speed and accuracy when paying for premium packaging, therefore we must continue to invest in machinery and equipment that delivers for our customers.  We feel this investment ticks all those boxes.”

The Visioncut 1.6 PR can die-cut to register double-sided printed sheets distinctive to e-commerce and high-end packaging and supports the growing need for precision die-cutting on regular litho-laminated corrugated board at Swanline.

Regarding the Power Register, Kirby adds, “ Whatever the position of the sheets between the joggers, each of them is taken by the suction plate and brought over photo-electric cells that read a register mark which determines the starting position, then the linear motors correct the longitudinal and lateral alignment of each sheet to position the printed sheet in the gripper bar.”

Swanline is also undertaking training delivered by Bobst UK & Ireland to ensure they achieve optimum performance from the new investment. Investment plans for the future include a review of litho laminating capabilities.
