Packrite, LLC recently commissioned a Kohler WaterDeck™ on their BOBST MSF324 Masterflute.
“This is our latest investment in technology that optimizes the quality of the products we manufacture for our customers, and the efficiency of our production,” says Michael Drummond, CEO, Packrite. “The WaterDeck will help us produce a flatter sheet, with minimal, if any, washboarding. It also helps us eliminate other common defects often experienced in the litho-lam process such as score cracking, bonding and edge delamination issues.”
The WaterDeck will allow Packrite’ to operate their laminator at higher speeds and reduce the amount of raw material consumed in the process. “Greater speeds give us more capacity and quicker turnarounds,” says Drummond. “Now, combine that with less water and adhesive consumption, less waste in general and we’re looking at a technology that not only helps us provide a high-quality product, but helps control costs as well. That’s a win-win situation for everybody. We’re delivering a high-quality product, we’re operating greener and we’re controlling costs!”
Packrite also took advantage of Kohler’s HYDROS™ training program to expand their knowledge of corrugating and bring the laminator crew and key production personnel to an even higher level of professionalism. The Kohler WaterDeck is just one of several recent investments Packrite has made in technology to enhance their efficiency and capabilities while expanding the value-added services they offer their customers.
“We are continually evaluating our operation and making intelligent investments in our facility, equipment, technology, and our people to keep Packrite and our customers competitive and on the cutting edge,” says Drummond.
