Another delay for Kipas Kagit paper machine start-up

It has been reported that there is a delay in start up for Kipas Kagit‘s new paper machine at its mill in Söke, Turkey.

PM 3 is now believed to be scheduled to start up on 10th November to run trials. The company said commercial production should be happening by year end. PM 3 will have a capacity of 650,000 tpy of recycled fluting, testliner and krafttop testliner.

Originally scheduled to be commissioned in Q3 2023, start-up has been postponed multiple times. A major fire that ran for six days in the summer and destroyed a significant OCC stock certainly caused a significant delay.
