VPK acquires stake in Fencor Packaging Group

On 30th August, Easypack POP/Displays Group Ltd was acquired by Easypack Holdings Limited from Fencor Packaging Group, following which VPK Group acquired a minority share in Fencor Packaging Group. Easypack will continue to be owned and run by its Directors.

Chris Hall, Business Development Director, Easypack, said, “Easypack has become increasingly specialised in recent years and the industrial logic which brought Easypack and Fencor together back in 2010 no longer exists, so we have been considering de-merging the businesses for some time. VPK’s interest in investing in Fencor provided the opportunity for us to realise these plans. We are excited about the future potential of an independent Easypack.”

Fencor wholly owns Manor Packaging, the sheet plant based in Cambridgeshire, which focuses on manufacturing conventional corrugated packaging and e-commerce boxes. In the last financial year Manor turned over £12.8m and employed 85 people. Manor has invested heavily in new equipment in recent years in response to evolving demand from its customers and is now one of the best invested conventional sheet plants in the UK. Manor will continue to be run by the same management.

David Orr, Managing Director, Fencor, added: “We are happy to be creating closer ties with VPK. Fencor and VPK have co-operated closely for over 10 years as partners in Corrboard UK, so we know and understand each other well. We see this as a positive development for Fencor’s customers, staff and suppliers.”
