Foodservice packaging specialist amipak has expanded its production capacity by investing in its second BOBST die-cutter.
The new Novacut 106 ER 3.0 will improve capacity and flexibility on amipak’s production lines as the business caters to rising demand for its leading foodservice packaging solutions.
The two companies shook on the deal on 6th June at Bobst’s booth at drupa and amipak will take delivery of the machine this month.
The Novacut 106 ER 3.0 delivers automated inline blanking separation that streamlines carton processing and eliminates the need to manually strip waste from die-cut work. It joins another Bobst machine amipak purchased in 2021 and marks the latest upgrade to its 100,000 sq ft of production and warehouse space.
Dan Schwitzer, Director of Communications & Sustainability, amipak, said, “We are committed to supporting our customers with the service and flexibility they expect, and as the business grows, we need to upscale our capacity. Our production demands have grown significantly so efficient die cutting machines are essential to keeping things running smoothly. Having previously invested in a Bobst machine in 2021, we were delighted with the shorter lead times and increased capacity it has helped us achieve. As we looked to expand our production to match the growing demand for our leakproof foodservice packaging range, partnering with Bobst again was the obvious solution. The purchase of the new machine follows more than £4m of investment in our production over the last few years, which has significantly increased our capacity. This has ensured that as the foodservice market expands, we are ready to support our customers with high quality, innovative and dependable packaging.”
