Sappi’s Alfeld Mill in Germany recently hosted two groups of regional and international press to throw the spotlight on its new barrier coating machine – one of Sappi Europe’s most innovative technological breakthroughs.
Investment in this machine has not only boosted Sappi’s production capacities, it has also enhanced the ability to bring groundbreaking products and new possibilities to the market, including an impressive variety of barrier coatings, perfect alignment with base papers and different printing side surfaces.
This extensive portfolio of next-generation, fibre-based functional papers allows brands to make the switch from multi-layer material and plastic packaging that is a challenge to recycle. Sappi says it’s partners – brand owners, converters and printers – can rest assured that in creating these circular solutions of the future, as it guarantees product safety and compliance with stringent packaging regulations.
