Rengo says it has been moving forward with the construction of its Ehime Toon Plant (Toon-shi, Ehime Prefecture) as a relocation site for the Matsuyama Plant (Matsuyama-shi, Ehime Prefecture) for some time, and started operation on 8th January.
As the new plant is located approximately 200m from the Toon Smart Interchange of the Matsuyama Expressway to be completed in 2024 and has favourable logistics, the company expect it to further strengthen the Rengo Group’s collaboration and supply system throughout Shikoku.
The new plant will also be equipped with solar power generation, LNG satellite facilities, and other facilities to reduce CO2 emissions, as stated in the Group’s environmental targets, Eco Challenge 2030, and to improve productivity through the use of digital technology.
In addition to responding to customers’ packaging needs with reliable quality, Rengo says it will contribute to an abundant future for Shikoku’s economy by creating environmentally friendly packaging.
