Wallace Carlson Printing in Minnetonka, MN has recently installed a Vinfoil Optima SF110MF cold transfer system on their new Komori GLX Advance to enhance their print offering to clients. This G7 Master Qualified Printer had been evaluating new technology developments in cold foil transfer.
This is the first Optima SF110MF installed in the United States and is fully integrated with the Komori press.
“I had been in conversations with Vinfoil for over two years prior to making our decision,” says Charlie Cox, COO, Wallace Carlson. “From the start, I had a good feeling about their technology, engineering, and their support staff. The install was seamless. We were producing good sellable press sheets in a short time. The factory technicians were incredible and great to partner with.”
Wallace Carlson has gone so far as to brand their cold foil process ‘Kaliedo Krome’ and before this investment, they were outsourcing their foil embellishment work.
“Our customers have been amazed with this new in-line process. Operators are getting better with the set-up time, and we are running at press speeds of 11,000 – 12,500 sheets per hour,” he concludes. “Having a strong background on the finishing side of our industry really helped with my decision to purchase a Vinfoil system and I would recommend it to anyone considering a cold foil system.”
