Sandland helps in ‘Turning The Black Country Green’

Sandland Packaging have become members of ‘Turning The Black Country Green’ (TTBCG) – an organisation helping businesses through the stages of becoming Carbon Neutral, certified to PAS2060:Carbon Neutral and then onto Carbon Net Zero.

To achieve this, the company have committed to measure and reduce their CO2e emissions which contribute to the global climate crisis affecting everyone. They are currently in the process of calculating their Carbon Emissions boundary across scope 1, 2 and 3, with a target of achieving PAS2060:Carbon Neutral certification in Q1 2022.

Martin Hickman, Managing Director, said, “Improving sustainability across the business is vitally important to us – we all have to play our part in tackling the effects of climate change. We started with our tree planning initiative and are now taking the first steps towards becoming Carbon Net Zero. It’s good for us, good for our customers and good for the planet.”

As a member of TTBCG, Sandland will measure their CO2e emissions to GHG Protocol standard and working with their supply chain, staff and customers look to achieve Net Zero by 2030, 20 years ahead of the UK backstop.

This is on top of existing initiatives including tree planting with One Tree Planted and providing chain of custody with FSC certification.
