Schur Pack recently completed the installation of the Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 including a Vinfoil Optima SF110MF, in Denmark. This installation is the largest offset printer to be shipped to Scandinavia in years.
The Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 has eight inking units, two varnish units, coldfoil system and a full logistic system. “Despite its huge size, the machine can change all eight print plates in only 34 seconds and can print 18,000 sheets per hour with coldfoil,” said Frank Sørensen, Director of Operations at Schur Pack. “When the choice fell on Koenig & Bauer to deliver our new printing press, it was due to their high productivity.”
Schur Pack decided to enter the cold transfer industry with Vinfoil’s cold transfer concept. A concept which, with the help of the one of a kind Multiple Foil Use (MFU) technology and Vinfoil Intelligent Foil Optimizing Program (VIFOP), will increase their foil savings and profitability massively.
“We expect to print a number of jobs with cold transfer that were previously printed with hotfoil. We are very satisfied with the Optima module, it will bring us further into the cold transfer world,” said Sørensen.
